Humans and apes share a common ancestor, but humans did not directly descend from modern apes. The common ancestor of humans and apes lived around 5 to 7 million years ago, and from there, the evolutionary paths of humans and apes diverged. Humans evolved separately from this common ancestor, developing unique traits and characteristics that distinguish us from modern apes. Therefore, while humans and apes are closely related, humans did not descend from modern apes. **

No, cats do not descend from rabbits. Cats and rabbits are two distinct species with different evolutionary histories. Cats belong to the family Felidae, while rabbits belong to the family Leporidae. Their common ancestor lived millions of years ago, but they evolved separately into the distinct species we know today. **

No, seals do not descend from wolves. Seals are marine mammals that belong to the pinniped group, which includes seals, sea lions, and walruses. Wolves, on the other hand, are land-dwelling mammals belonging to the Canidae family. The two species have different evolutionary histories and are not closely related. **

No, humans and apes share a common ancestor but do not directly descend from apes. The theory of evolution suggests that humans and apes evolved separately from a common ancestor over millions of years. Both humans and apes have evolved and adapted to their environments in different ways, leading to the distinct species we see today. **

No, humans did not descend directly from fish. However, there is evidence to suggest that humans and fish share a common ancestor that lived millions of years ago. Through the process of evolution, different species have diverged and adapted to their respective environments, leading to the vast diversity of life we see today. **

No, humans did not directly descend from apes. Both humans and apes share a common ancestor that lived millions of years ago. Through the process of evolution, humans and apes have evolved separately, each developing unique traits and characteristics. While humans and apes are closely related, they are distinct species with their own evolutionary paths. **

Yes, birds are believed to have descended from dinosaurs. Scientists have found evidence in the fossil record that suggests birds evolved from a group of two-legged dinosaurs known as theropods. This theory is supported by similarities in bone structure and other physical characteristics between birds and certain dinosaur species. Additionally, genetic studies have also provided further evidence linking birds to their dinosaur ancestors. **

Yes, humans share a common ancestor with fish, but we did not directly descend from them. Through the process of evolution, our distant ancestors evolved from fish-like creatures that lived in water millions of years ago. Over time, these early vertebrates adapted to life on land, eventually leading to the development of modern humans. **
